An idea!

February 28, 2008 · Filed Under joomla, mootools

Brainwave!  Instead of frustrating myself trying to pick an idea to run with, I’m going to pick an idea I came across in another website!

Gotta love plagarism :-)

While surfing around looking at various tools, technologies etc that might fit into whatever site I might develop, I thought it might be neat to have an image slide show on the site.

Came across this post    http://forum.joomlaworks.gr/index.php?topic=3057.0 essentially complaining about the JoomlaWorks Simple Image Rotator not working in Joomla 1.5.

Joomla 1.5 http://www.joomla.org is recently released, it is a Content Management System which would make life easier on the website side rather than having to write everything myself. Its written in PHP using a MySQL database in addition it uses MooTools http://www.mootools.org which seems to be a pretty decent JavaScript framework, plus Joomla “seems” to be relatively easy to customise, create new templates for etc and that would get HTML and CSS covered for me.

Thats it then. My first real web development will be to write an Image Slideshow inspired by the JoomlaWorks Simple Image Rotator and have it work within Joomla 1.5.

Hope you could help us with the following. We installed the slide show module as required. And filled a directory with a number of sequenced pictures. Named 1 — 99 etc.

It does not matter the sequence we choose in the module. It looks if the sequence is totally random.

At startup (refresh button ie7) we see the picture numbers are loaded in the proper sequense, but the display of them is random.

    Please help.

If you log to our site and choose the kabelkrant option, you can see the problem yourself.

    Thanks in advance,

    Carry
